Born on 16th of July in Tbilisi. Tenor, baritone. People's artist of the Armenian Soviet Socialistic Republic (1939). His father was a folk singer. Studied vocal with G.Syuni and S.Melikyan in the Narsesyan Religious School. In 1916-1918 - studied in Saint-Petersburg conservatory (class of S.Gabel) In 1924 together with A.Melik-Pashaev, A.Danielyan and L.Iseckiy organized and guided the Leninakan Opera troupe. In 1927-1932 - organizer and soloist of the ensemble "Armenian ashugs". In 1933-1953 - one of the founders and soloists of Spendiarov Armenian Theater of Opera and Ballet. In 1938 founded and guided till 1941 the ensemble of the Armenian gusan singing. In 1942 together with his wife founded the Armenian Musical Comedy Theater. Had a beautiful, strong voice of wide diapason, which enabled him to sing both tenor and baritone roles. His singing was distinguished with lyrical depth, true sense of style. Among his roles: Faust, Jose, Sinodal, Saro, Nani (“Anush”, Tigranyan), Grikor (“Lusabacin”, Stepanyan), Arshak II (“Arshak II”, Chuhadjyan), Stepanos Shaumyan (“David-Bek”, Stepanyan), Sos (“Sos i Varditer”, Kazaryan), Tatul, Ashug, Sheikh (“Almast”, Spendiarov), Ker-ogly (“Ker-ogly”, Gadzhibekov), Kizao (“Daisi”, Paliashvili). Gave concerts. In the chamber repertoire he had songs and romances of Russian, European and Soviet composers. Was a member of the first and second convocation on the High Soviet of the Armenian Soviet Socialistic Republic. Received the Stalin Award (1946) and the Sign of Lenin. Died on 7th of November 1965.

Igor on his crappy Soviet Tenors blog pretends that the owner of HT lives in France. Why then did he send a threatening to the owner of HT telling him he will visit him in the State of New York for exposing his plagiarism. Igor you cannot even lie properly.

Igor tells us that the owner of HT knows nothing about Soviet Tenors, so why was he pilfering the HT site? In top of that Vladimir Efimenko disappeared about 8 years ago. We are all surprised that Igor thought it was Efimenko posting on Grandi-Tenori.

Like the other plagiarist Ashot Arakelyan believes everything hr reads on the Internet.

The poor man has no idea of what he is talking about. He is a green horn of the Soviet Opera. He just copies stuff from Russian sites without quoting his references and sometimes in funny English. Also musically he has no clue otherwise he would not have written it, of course we will not tell him as he would correct it. Guess where it is Igor! He know that the owner of HT does not leave in France and even threatened him, like he did to the owner of Grandi Tenori, to come to see in the State of New York to clear things up.

HT references all the Soviet Tenors information on the site, thing that lying Igor does not do.

Also Igor is an adept of using fake IPs like he did to access the HT site and he had generated fake French IPs to make one believe that the owner of HT is spying from France on his miserable crap. Please note that Igor said he was consulting HT, while he accuses HT to steal by looking at his blog.
